EDA summery on if you can’t afford altium designer. Chris: kicad, Dave:circuit studio?
A different twist to the EDA question. As a hobbiest what package helps give you the the experience needed to best get through a job interview or getting a “professional gig”. Or does it matter?
Depends if it’s consulting or at a company. I think if you’re early in your career, they’ll be flexible and just be impressed you’ve created actual hardware. So learning whatever they use (Allegro, for instance) will take time and they’ll expect that. Later in your career, they might expect you already have experience in a tool, but that will be listed in the job rec anyway.
