Since I was talking about it in a few previous episodes and was down there “cleaning” today (it’ll never be clean), I thought I’d take a picture of where I’m recording from in Cleveland. The mics are really all you need for a podcast, as evidenced by these pictures.

Now I’m surprised that I’ve never heard a rimshot during the podcast. 8)

highly surprised you don’t have some sound absorption on that concrete wall.
Chris Gammell says
I’m reworking the studio (again) and I’ll consider it. I’m not going to be facing the wall anymore, so that will help but I also turn the gain down on my mic and it’s directional so I don’t get as much bounce off the wall as Dave.

Leave the cinderblocks bare! Who wants to sound like they’re renting time in a multi-million dollar studio like ALL the rich corporate pukes? Make that kit sound like home! There’s a gazillion studios out there, and they all sound like what they are, impersonal, temporary, and STUCK-UP! Any one can sound like they’re in the studio. Only those blocks sound like Home! Aagh! “They’re Trashing our data!”
