So Dave and I check traffic sometimes. Lately, we’ve been seeing natural spikes in traffic around Monday or so. You guessed right, we usually record on Monday evenings and try to post that evening. But why not be REALLY sure when we have a new episode available and subscribe to our RSS feed? Just sayin’, it’s waaaaaay easier.
On a related note, if you don’t happen to take my sage advice, try to check back Tuesday, instead of Monday. With the (US) holiday, we won’t get to it until a little later in the week. And of course, if you have any suggestions, be sure to post them on our dedicated page.
As a final note, if you’re in the US (or otherwise), having a BBQ with friends and family this weekend, be sure to mention The Amp Hour to them. I mean, who DOESN’T want to hear about your favorite electronics podcast? We’d appreciate it! Thanks!

The problem with my family and friends is that when I mention the word electronics – their eyes glaze over and they slowly walk away from me backwards… 🙂

Nerdy friends are just as good as any other friends. And don’t forget quasi-friends like the Facebook and Twitter variety!
John Boxall says
Well we have the link exchange happening, Twitter and so on. As strange as this may sound, I don’t have any nerdy friends here in BNE. But I will try and spread the good word, you have a great show. Cheers, john

It’s a little embarrassing, but I have no clue how the RSS feeds work. I’m busy enough with all the blogs and forums I follow, plus keeping up with facebook. I guess I should look into it. But I refuse to twitter! 🙂

I would do what Mark says below. Google Reader is simple (assuming you have a Google account). After that, it’s just a matter of remembering to look at it once in a while. If you have a web-based widget page (again, I use an iGoogle start page), it just shows some of the latest stories. Could be good for all those blogs and forums you follow though, almost all of them should have an RSS feed and then you can check them all in the same place! They’ll only show up when there’s something new.

Re: RSS
I prefer the google rss reader. It’s simple and easy to add your favorite feeds. Just click the rss link and then the +google button and sign in with gmail. There’s also a nice plugin for it with chrome if you use that.

Chris, does it benefit you guys somehow if I subscribe to the RSS feed?
Chris Gammell says
Nope! Only you!
It took me a while to figure out the benefits of it. I’d say give it a shot and see if it cuts down on all the links you have to visit.
