Re ShipStation: In the US, Pirate Ship offers similar pricing for USPS and UPS but without the monthly subscription fees.

Dave said to leave it in the comments, so here I am!

For my home workbench, I picked up a used Agilent 66332A power supply. It has two current readback ranges: full-range -5A to +5A and low-range -20mA to +20mA. (The low range is accurate down to 2 microamperes). It can read negative currents, as it is a two-quadrant supply, capable of sourcing or sinking current.

In cases when you want to have a meter in the current loop, you can use remote sense if your power supply supports it.
